- How do I convert kilograms to pounds?

- Why do Celsius and Fahrenheit need a special formula?
- Their zero points differ, so it is not a simple multiplication: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. Water freezes at 0 °C = 32 °F and boils at 100 °C = 212 °F.
- Are US and UK gallons the same?
- No. This converter uses US units: a US gallon is 3.785 liters, while a UK (imperial) gallon is 4.546 liters, about 20% more.
